Our apprentices mean the world to us! Some go on to manage other farms and some even stay and become a part of our staff. Our farmers have over a decade of experience farming, running farm businesses, and teaching beginning farmers. Our farmers understand how difficult it can be to get meaningful experience farming. Every farmer needs a good mentor and we look forward to being that for you. Come learn from the best!

Come work with dedicated well-established organic farmers, in a scenic urban setting about a mile from downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. 2 full-time positions from mid March through mid November with stipend ranging from $1,00 to $1500/month, plus excellent accommodations, valued at $1,000/month; in exchange for 30 hours of work per week. Apprentices are allotted two weeks of vacation time during the season. Apprentices are permitted to seek outside employment during their time at Red Barn Farm with manager approval. We do offer an end of season bonus for apprentices that complete the entire season.

Apprentices participate in farm operations, sales, farm dinners, farmstand management, and our non-profit programming. Our farmers host two classes per month during lunch time to study organic market gardening techniques.

Educational Opportunities: Please email us for our complete training plan, which includes greenhouse management, cut flower and vegetable production, high tunnel production, and direct marketing to the local food hub, restaurants, a CSA, and our farm store. Our farmers host two lunch and learn opportunities a month - more by demand. The classes include special topics on production and business management. Our apprentices also visit a few local farms for a deeper understanding of market farming.

Skills Desired: Farming experience is not a must, but an apprentice must be a good study and a dedicated learner. Apprentices must be able to drive and lift at or above 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.

Meals: Some lunches are provided.

Stipend: Yes. Our stipend ranges from $1,000 to $1,500/month

Housing: Yes. The upstairs of our farmhouse is shared by two apprentices throughout the growing season. This upstairs has two private rooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room, and laundry facilities. It is fully furnished.
