Internship Details:
Position: Seasonal Beekeeper Assistant
Reports to: Apiary Manager
Compensation: $20 per hour
Benefits: Housing available (no pets), PTO
Schedule: March 2nd – November 25, 5 days per week, 40 – 50 hours per week
About the position:
Assist our apiary manager in all aspects of a start up large scale apiary including getting equipment ready, tending to hives and processing honey.
Requirements
- Comfortable working with bees
- Lifting at least 50 lbs
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Demonstrate record keeping ability
Responsibilities
Working with our team to execute daily tasks including:
- Drive a pick up truck
- Work with beekeeping tools such as smokers and lifting supers
- Support record keeping
- Repair, maintenance and cleaning of bee equipment
- Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment
