Cover Crop Variety Testing Network Seeks Citizen Science Participants

The Cover Crop Variety Testing Network seeks farmers to participate as citizen scientists in Fall 2025 cover crop trials. This collaborative national project aims to identify which cover crop varieties perform best across different regions, management practices, and farming systems. Participants will receive seeds and choose at least two species to trial in small plots (ranging from 5 ’ x 15’ to 1/8-acre strips). Farmers will collect and share their observations on basic performance data for each variety tested. Participation is limited. Complete a short, online survey by June 15, 2025, to apply.
