We have full-time and part-time positions open for the 2023 season. Prior vegetable farm experience is preferred, but not required.
Farm crew members take part in all aspects of farm operations: seeding, planting, weeding, irrigation, harvest, etc. We have a strong track record of helping our farm crew alumni go on to start their own farms, so this is a good place to work if you have put in a few years of farming and are looking to take the next step toward operating or managing a farm on your own. We also have a history of folks who work here for several years or longer, so if you are not interested in operating your own farm but are looking at farming as a long-term job, we are also a good place for that.
Educational Opportunities: We do not offer a formal internship program, but you will learn a lot through your daily participation. We have over 20 former employees/interns who have gone on to successfully run their own farms. All aspects of crop planning, finances, and farm decision making are available to employees. You willl learn the most by being proactive and asking lots of questions.
Skills Desired: - Prior farm experience is preferred, but not required. - Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions. - Abilty to lift 40 pounds and work in a kneeling/crouching position. - Drivers license required, driving experience and willingness to drive a delivery route in Seattle strongly preferred.
