Maintaining Your Tractor – Preparing to do Maintenance
What do you to do before getting under the tractor and doing your own maintenance? Let ATTRA Specialist Andy Pressman and Farm and Equipment Educator Shane LaBrake walk you through the process of identifying the maintainable parts of your tractor and what you need to do to get ready.
The tractor that Andy and Shane are working on is a 35 horsepower Ford 1910 from 1985. In this video, they get to know the tractor and perform a walk-around assessment before doing maintenance. Being able to perform the routine maintenance on their tractor helps farmers save money in the long run.
This video is one of a five-part series, “Maintaining Your Tractor.
The series was filmed at the Inn at East Hill Farm in Troy, New Hampshire, and was funded through a Specialty Crop Block Grant from the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Food. For more information, reach out to ATTRA Sustainable Agriculture Specialists at askanag@ncat.org.
