Demystifying Regenerative Grazing and Soil Health: A Virtual Workshop
In this workshop, we hear from NCAT’s Nina Prater, Justin Morris, and Linda Coffey, as well as Arkansas graziers Jeremy Prater and Rick Crunkleton. In the first part of the workshop, Nina discusses what soil health is and describes some guiding principles for how to achieve soil health. Next, Justin gives an introduction to regenerative grazing, including what it means, how it’s different from sustainable and organic grazing, and some key attributes of regenerative grazing.
Then we hear from Jeremy Prater of Windset Ranch and Rick Crunkleton of Crunkleton Farms. They share the specifics of their operations and describe how they manage their farms toward soil regeneration.
Finally, Linda leads a discussion on how to encourage and support farmers who are working toward these goals.
