Connecticut’s Conservation Innovation Grants

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications for Conservation Innovation Grants in Connecticut, to support the development of new tools, approaches, practices, and technologies to further natural resource conservation on private lands. A total of $500,000 is available, and non-federal entities and individuals are eligible to apply.The maximum amount for a single award is $250,000. CIG generally funds pilot projects, field demonstrations, and on-farm conservation research. Priorities this year include climate-smart forestry and climate-smart practices for small and urban farms, as well as nutrient management with compost and biochar and carbon sequestration.
